Scientific and Clinical Foundation of Supplemental Enzymes
Presented by M. Mamadou, Ph.D.
The use of supplemental enzymes has often been the subject of debate as to its effectiveness and importance. Although enzyme biochemistry has been studied since the 1930’s, the role of enzymes in supplementation and therapy has not been widespread or well understood. In this presentation Dr. Mamadou will be discussing special considerations on the production of enzymes, the pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of supplemental enzymes, and further and updated scientific and clinical foundation of their applications and benefits.
Dr. Mamadou is a distinguished member of the scientific advisory board for Transformation Enzyme Corporation as well as Phytomedic Labs. His Ph.D. degree is in Cell Biology and Protein Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Mamadou has many years of experience in teaching, research and consulting activities in the areas of protein chemistry, enzymology (purification, characterization, assays), cell and molecular biology, regulation of gene expression, food sciences and nutrition, environmental health, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, dietary supplements (enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins, neurotransmitters, hormones, herbal extracts) and nutritional genomics. He is an invaluable member of our community.
Whether you are new to enzymes or simply just need a good refresher and reminder of why enzymes should be a part of everyone’s path to wellness, Dr. Mamadou will address some key characteristics of supplemental enzymes and provide further and updated scientific and clinical foundation of their applications and benefits. You will learn how and when to use enzyme-based dietary supplements for wellness and health as well as specific product rationales, dosages, and recommendation guidelines.

Clinical Spotlight: Pediatric Health
Becoming Human: Tracing Digestive Dysfunction from Embryo through Early Childhood
Presented by Amy Rawls, MS, RD, LD, FMNS, CGN
There is a growing awareness of worsening and more complicated digestive challenges. We are in the midst of epidemic proportions of allergies, asthma, ADHD, food sensitivities, diabetes, and hormonal imbalances amongst those young and old. Why are we suffering from these conditions? In order to understand how we got here, we must first understand and grasp human development from the very beginning. In this presentation Amy Rawls, MS, RD, LD, will discuss the connection between nutrition and digestive development and why the need for supplemental enzymes has never been greater.

Protecting Our Future through Genetic Testing
Presented by Mike Clark MBA, JD, PhD
Our culture is facing epidemics of obesity, diabetes, autism, ADHD, and even chronic diseases. We are being prescribed drugs in ever increasing numbers. Is this the future? What can we do about it? One answer is to know our genetic health profile so we can identify risk factors for these and other conditions. Isn’t it time to take the guesswork out of our treatment and prevention protocols? Dr. Mike Clark will discuss how this can be done with the appropriate testing of genes and the personalized treatment through Nutrigenomic testing.

Putting Enzymes into Practice
Gut-Brain Connection in Athletic Performance
Presented by Caroline Carpenter, DC
Athletes often find themselves juggling fad diets, tips, and tricks that promise weight loss, muscle gain, and increased athletic performance. A serious athlete will eat whatever his or her coach outlines based on macro-nutrient requirements with little focus placed on nutrient density and absorption. But sometimes the foods that are prescribed to drive performance and serve as the basis for health will cause disease and worsen inflammation if not properly absorbed and assimilated. Optimal performance, injury prevention, and proper recovery are all benefits of following the proper enzyme protocol. Dr. Caroline Carpenter will share how she improves efficiency in overall performance and recovery in the various athletes she sees in her own practice through case studies showing how enzyme therapy impacts performance and the level of health necessary to compete at a high level.

Optimizing the Integration of the Endocrine System and the Microbiome
Presented by Dian Ginsberg, MD, FACOG
with Sheila Vuckovic, M.Ed, NTP, NSCA-CPT
Our aging process begins the moment we are born. To maximize growth, fertility, and overall health and fitness throughout the years, we need to keep a good relationship between our hormones and our microbiome. New information and research on the reproductive years through to menopause has revealed the surprising effects that hormone fluctuations have on the microbiome and overall aging. This presentation will also review the newest literature and findings on cortisol and adrenal dysfunction as they relate to digestion and overall gut health. Dr. Dian Ginsberg will then be joined by her head nutritionist Sheila Vuckovic to discuss diet and supplementation protocols designed to maximize microbiome diversity and optimize aging. They will also share their experience with clinical applications including bioindividual nutrition.

Supporting the Immune System
Presented by Milton Bastidas, DC, CIHP
Covid is a virus, and like all viruses it has the same fundamental weaknesses. There is nothing more effective than the immune system when it comes to dealing with ANY pathogenic species. In this presentation, Transformation's Lead Researcher Dr. Milton Bastidas will discuss the importance of enzymes, probiotics, and antioxidants in breaking down pathogenic biofilms, cellular debris, and toxins in the blood to free up the immune system for the important work of facing viral, bacterial, and fungal challenges.

Using BioEnergy for Progress
Presented by Abby Matzke, PhD
Assessment of the body’s electricity flow gives incredible insight into why a client may be doing everything right but getting slow or no progress. The body’s electrical circuitry goes highly ignored by mainstream approaches to health and wellness even though body energy flow is critical to optimal functioning. In this presentation, Abby Matzke, PhD, will give you the top two ways to clean up the electrical flow of the body and mind. Get insight from a Natural Medicine and Bioenergetics Practitioner on what blocked energy looks like in you and your clients, the most effective ways to obtain improved results, and several case studies with client outcomes.

Doing Business in Difficult Times
Changes in the Industry
Presented by Suzanne Espinoza
Heraclitus, the Greek philosopher who lived over 500 years before Christ, said, "Change is the only constant in life." Most of us have had to make some type of change to the way we do business, educate, and communicate with our peers and patients. Transformation’s President and CEO Suzanne Espinoza will discuss changes in our industry as it relates to business models shifts, our supply chain, and manufacturing as well as regulatory changes from the FDA and FTC. Suzanne’s presentation style is authentic and transparent—she holds nothing back. Suzanne will share issues ranging from allergen statements, financial impact, and our supply chain to social media monitoring by the FTC.

How to Start and Build a Natural Medicine Practice
Presented by Sandra Schwartz, DAOM, L.Ac.
Starting and building a successful natural medicine practice requires research, planning, an understanding of business accounting, and yes, a lot of hard work. Not only does it take being a gifted healer to make your business a success, it also takes strategies for attracting new patients and retaining existing patients. COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on all aspects of American businesses, but perhaps none have been as severely affected as small business owners. In this presentation Dr. Sandra Schwartz will discuss how you can alter your business and mindset to set you up for success.
